The US military says there are no orders yet to create safe areas for refugees

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The US military said it had not yet been ordered to establish what Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Wednesday called “interim zones of stability” to help refugees return home as the campaign against the Islamic State.

“So far we have not received instructions to establish any type of zones,” Colonel Joe Scrocca told Pentagon reporters, speaking by phone from Kuwait, when asked about Tillerson’s comments.
