Ted Cruz is ready to fight on Thanksgiving, even as Texas mortuaries struggle to make room

Officials in El Paso County, Texas last week called for additional morgue workers to deal with the increase in deaths from COVID-19, prompting the National Guard to Texas to mobilize and face the harsh reality of a “death management plan”:

Meanwhile, Senator Ted Cruz seemed more worried about someone getting rid of his turkey leg:

The Texas senator was called out for his “come and take it” post, which was widely seen on Twitter TWTR, + 2.43% as a muffled salute in the culture war dividing both sides of the political spectrum:

Cruz’s post also appeared to go against the CDC’s warning against travel to Thanksgiving gatherings as coronavirus cases continue to climb.

His peers on the left side of the aisle were quick to intervene:
