FRANKFURT (Reuters) – The European Central Bank’s forecast of an economic rebound this year remains in place despite new restrictions on activity in several euro zone countries, provided those measures are lifted in late March, the government said. Wednesday the President of the ECB, Christine Lagarde. “I think our latest projections in December are still clearly plausible,” Lagarde said in an interview at the Reuters Next conference. “Our forecast is based on lockdown measures until the end of the first quarter.” He added that it would be “a concern” if restrictions on economic activity continued in the second quarter.
