Crypto leaders worry about threat of ‘big tech’ censorship
A change in WhatsApp’s terms of service has caused a massive exodus from the messaging platform to more private and independent rivals such as Telegram and Signal, which have registered millions of new users in the last week. Rather than agree to new terms specifying the application’s right to share user data with Facebook (NASDAQ :), millions of WhatsApp users simply stopped using the platform and abandoned it for less intrusive competitors.
